is on in and around Canberra on 10 December 2025. Geoscience Australia will be involved, putting on a mix of hands on activities, talks and online material that explain rocks, water and the things that quietly shape the landscape.

If you feel like organising a local event, popping along to something nearby or following the action online, there will be options. No geology degree required, just curiosity and sensible shoes for any field trips. It is a good excuse to ask why the ground under your feet behaves the way it does and to admire a decent fossil without having to make up a story about where you found it.
