Meander through the Christina and Trevor Kennedy Garden at the National Museum, a living museum packed with First Nations food and medicine plants from the length and breadth of Australia. It's like a botanical scavenger hunt with a whiff of fresh air and a chance meeting with some local critters—so keep your peepers open. Adam Shipp from Yurbay Consultancies, a proud Wiradjuri fella, will guide you through the greenery while giving you a crash course in what's tasty and what's not if you ever find yourself in the bush and feeling peckish.
As your tour comes to a close, you'll be treated to a selection of bite-sized delights inspired by the very plants you've just admired, turning this stroll into a mini food expedition right in Canberra's backyard. Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for concession holders, and $25 for Friends of the Garden. Families can join in for a cool $100, which covers two adults and two kids—just don't try to bring along that extra cousin unless they're contributing to the family pot.
